Following the release of renewed Material You for other workspace applications earlier this month, Google announced today that Google Keep will be next to upgrade.
Since it’s already a pretty flashy design app, it’s interesting to see how Keep adopts the new Dynamic Color feature. Based on the following Google example, the Material You theme version will desaturate the colors of many notes and leave the subtle accent color in the bottom bar, search box, and a very light tone in the background. The floating action button also makes a rounded square design.
However, on Pixel devices with dynamic color, Google Keep will have a slightly stronger material look. This includes a more obvious tone in the background and even in the notes that have not changed their color. It is unclear whether the update will also affect notes beyond the home page.
The material you are updating for Google Keep will be rolled out as of September 21 with version 521,361 of Keep for Android. As with Gmail, Meet, Drive, and Calendar, it may take a few days for the launch to arrive on your device.
It is currently unclear whether this update will include a new widget for Keep.
