Los Angeles County will issue an order this week that will require people to show vaccination tests for indoor bars, wineries, breweries, nightclubs and salons, while also requiring a vaccination test or a negative COVID-19 test for “outdoor megaevents”. such as Dodgers, Rams and Chargers games.
“This modified order of health workers fits the continuing need to reduce the risk of transmission and increase vaccination coverage,” Dr. Barbara Ferrer, the county’s director of public health, said during a board meeting. on Wednesday. “This is a reasonable way forward that will position us to be able to better break the cycle of climbs.”
The order is slated to require customers and employees of bars and other nightlife venues to have a dose of the vaccine before Oct. 7, receiving their second dose no later than Nov. 4.
The order will also recommend, but will not require, customers of indoor restaurants to accredit vaccination.

The order will also target “mega-events”, such as outdoor sporting events and concerts, which will require all attendees, employees and participants to show vaccination tests or a negative COVID-19 test in the last 72 hours. These rules are in addition to the mandatory masking rules that were first implemented in April.
The requirement for vaccination testing or negative testing for mega-events will be set on October 7, while indoor events for more than 5,000 users already have rules that require attendees to demonstrate vaccination testing or negative testing.
