Arkane says: • Eurogamer.net, the Deathloop PC stuttering issues

Deathloop gamers have complained about stuttering and frame deficiencies in the PC version of the game, and now developer Arkane has acknowledged the problem.

In a statement shared by the game’s community manager on reddit, Arkane said he was studying the issue “as a priority.”

“Hi everyone, I’m one of the managers of the Deathloop community,” MortalEmporer wrote on reddit, responding to a post that jokingly suggested that Deathloop’s problems were due to the graphic quality of his food in the game.

“While these burgers look fantastic, in terms of performance, we know that some PC users have stuttering issues in Deathloop.

“Right now we are actively researching the topic as a priority and we will update you with more specific information as soon as possible.”

Found the reason for the poor performance, these are the best looking burgers I’ve ever seen in any game. from r / Deathloop

Meanwhile, Steam reviews of Deathloop are having success. Despite a strong consensus of critical review at launch, the game is currently based on a “mixed” user score.

Many user reviews include unfounded speculation that Deathloop is using Denuvo’s controversial copy protection. But, writing Twitter last night, Alex Battaglia of Digital Foundry said there was no evidence that Denuvo was to blame for the stuttering that players are currently reporting.

Instead, he wrote, the problem seemed to be the movement of the game’s camera when playing with a mouse and using an unlocked frame rate that is not set to standard values like 60 fps.

Digital Foundry will delve into this issue as part of a detailed video, scheduled for tomorrow. In the meantime, we have contacted Bethesda for more information.

“A brilliant time shooter who gives Dishonored’s best tricks and techniques more opportunities to shine,” Edwin wrote in Eurogamer Deathloop magazine, awarding him an Essential badge. (We played on PS5.)
