Missoula County records hospitalization records for COVID-19

MISSOULA – The number of people hospitalized in Missoula County due to COVID-19 has reached 43, which marks the maximum record set on November 7, 2020. About thirty people hospitalized are residents in the county.

St. Patrick posted on social media on Tuesday that COVID-19 patients are now being picked up in the ambulance bay.

The Missoula City-County Department of Health (MCCHD) also reports an additional 152 new cases and the daily average of new cases per 100,000 people has increased to 84.

Missoula County has recently set a record with 157 new cases of COVID-19, the highest number since the pandemic began.

MCCHD also notes that approximately 40% of county residents remain unvaccinated. Local hospitals say they are overwhelmed by unvaccinated patients. People over the age of 12 are urged to take COVID-19 vaccines.

To date, there have been a total of 12,073 COVID-19 cases in the county, including 10,801 recoveries and 116 deaths.
