Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston recently revealed that Christina Applegate would be their ideal selection for a new cast member on The Morning Show.

The performers said Applegate was their best choice as they spoke with Entertainment Tonight ahead of the show’s second season premiere later this week.

Witherspoon, 45, was the first to point out that he would like to have her in the series, as, like Reese, she played one of Aniston’s sisters in Friends.

“We need Christina Applegate to join us … It would be fun,” he remarked.

Aniston, 52, echoed his co-star’s sentiment and commented, “Yeah … we should do something like that.”

Aniston then pointed out that she and her co-stars had come a long way since the end of the sitcom’s success.

She said, “Going back and watching Reese, like the Reese and I clips in the day, we were so small ourselves … We were so handsome. Who knew our whole lives were ahead of us? It’s crazy to think from here, here we sit.

The topic of conversation changed in the next season of The Morning Show, and the performer noted that the onset of the global pandemic greatly affected plans for the second series of episodes.
