An Oklahoma pastor running to oust Senator James Lankford in the 2022 election cycle offers religious exemption forms for the COVID-19 vaccine, adding that he will sign them if people choose to join his church.
Jackson Lahmeyer, 29, leads Tulsa Sheridan Church with his wife, Kendra, and devised a plan with right-leaning ThriveTime Show podcast host Clay Clark to offer people everything the country religious exemption forms for the vaccine. Forms should be handed out to employers if workers try to avoid taking the COVID-19 vaccine, the Washington examiner candidate said Wednesday.
“So this is a generic way to use people to go get their pastor signed,” Lahmeyer said. The pastor added that he offers to sign the forms, but said that “in order to have any legal weight,” a person should become a member of his church. According to Lahmeyer, the free form has been downloaded more than 30,000 times.
Lahmeyer touched on all possible critics with the movement who believe the plan is a “fundraiser,” arguing that someone could give $ 1 to sign the form. The first candidate added that he would prefer other pastors to sign the forms if a person is already a member of a different church.

Charles Haynes, a senior member of religious freedom at the Freedom Forum in Washington, DC, argued that a person who wants to be exempted from the vaccine for religious reasons should only express a sincere religious belief, according to the Washington Post.
Lahmeyer faces an uphill battle in his career against incumbent Republican Lankford ahead of next year’s primaries, although he has received support from Oklahoma Republican Party President John Bennett, as well as endorsements from General Michael Flynn and MyPillow founder Mike Lindell, two prominent sponsors of former President Donald Trump.

“James [Lankford] requested Trump’s endorsement six months ago. It hasn’t happened, and I don’t think it will, “Lahmeyer told the Washington Examiner, making public his recent endorsement of Jenna Ellis, a former Trump legal adviser.
