HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A one-year-old girl was pronounced dead after being accidentally abandoned in a vehicle Thursday, Harris County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies responded to reports of a child left in a vehicle in the Crescent Park Village subdivision, located at Block 8000 on Barnes Ridge Lane, around 6 p.m.
Investigators said the mother was taking her three children, ages 5, 3 and 1, to the nursery this morning, but when she arrived, she left only the 3- and 5-year-olds. Deputies believe the 1-year-old was accidentally left in the vehicle.
Deputies said the mother returned home and at some point in the day went to exercise. It was when he went to look for the other children in the nursery that he realized he had not left his one-year-old daughter.
Deputies said a nursery worker went home with the mother to help look for the 1-year-old and found her in a vehicle in the back panel.
