Sorry, Times Square, but you can keep the ball. On New Year’s Eve in the city of Tampa, Florida, we drop a treasure chest more than 300 feet high at Curtis Hixon Park. It’s not real, of course. This “booty” will be projected on the Sykes Tower, in the Hard Seltzer Can building, and will officially fall at midnight.
The New Yarrgh’s Eve Booty Drop, powered by Amgen and iHeartMedia.
The “booty drop” will consist of a 320-foot-tall three-dimensional projection of a “fallen” treasure chest next to the Rivergate Tower, headline music provided by the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. The public is invited to witness the dynamic visualization as we look back to 2021 together.
“In Tampa, we’re not letting the ball go in the city’s traditions, but we’re going to drop a treasure chest.” he joked Mayor Jane Castor“I’m really excited for Tampa to adopt another new tradition that will bring our community together to sound like 2021 and many more years to come.”
The event is FREE andT and open to the public. The festivities will take place from 9pm until midnight.
Curtis Hixon Park is located at 600 North Ashley Drive in Tampa.
