On Monday, disturbing new images of the man accused of a mad assault on two police women in Bankstown, south-west Sydney, have surfaced.

In the savage attack in broad daylight, one female officer was allegedly repeatedly knelt in the face, while the other received brutal punches and kicks, according to police.

The accused was seen fleeing the scene after the attack, but was later caught on camera in the courtyard of his home in nearby Yagoona.

The video shows a 43-year-old wild-eyed man in a haunting sequence shot in his garden.

He can be seen walking up and down the garden, his clothes hanging nearby, as he shouts apparent nonsense and murmurs to himself.

The disturbing scene unfolded just before police rushed into the home and arrested the man in connection with the alleged assault on women police officers.

She is said to be known to police for previous mental health issues. He is also said to have later attacked a third police officer after he was arrested.

The alleged initial incident occurred just before noon near the Bankstown Hoyts cinema on Jacob Street Terrace.

The two older women of the establishment were patrolling the area when they saw a man standing on the road and warned him to move before he was hit by traffic.

But when officers approached him, he allegedly attacked.

“The man allegedly punched and kicked both officers, who used OC spray to try to subdue him, before running out of the area and boarding a train,” police said. NSW.

A clip of the incident filmed from a parked car went viral after it was posted on Facebook.

The video shows a man with a red cap allegedly violently kneeling on a police woman’s head while his colleague tries to use red pepper spray to subdue him.

The man is seen fleeing into the distance as the police who bore the brunt of the alleged attack slammed into him and grabbed his face.

Following his arrest, the accused assaulted a third officer, a 32-year-old male officer, while in custody.

The male officer and the two women from the Bankstown Police Transport Command, aged 30 and 32, were treated at Bankstown Hospital.

NSW police added: “Charges are expected to be laid and investigations into the incident continue.”
