A car shot dead by at least two people in the center of Fresno, according to police

FRESNO, California (KFSN) – Fresno police have one person arrested, but are still looking for a second suspect related to a nightly shooting in downtown Fresno.

It happened shortly before 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Fresno and Ashlan area.

Police say at least two people were shot at a car in another car, but luckily no one inside the vehicle was injured.

The people shot began following the suspects through Ashlan and then through Blackstone, before the suspect’s vehicle stopped in Gettysburg and Thorne.

Both people in the car ran out.

Fresno police, with the help of Fresno County Sheriff’s deputies, set up a perimeter and were able to find one of the suspects about 30 minutes later hidden under a car in someone’s yard.

A K9 helped arrest the 38-year-old man.

Police believe this person is the shooter, but the reason for the shooting is not yet known.

Police are still looking for a second suspect to flee the vehicle.

Clovis police also helped search for the suspects by pulling out their drone.

It is not yet known if the shooting is related to a gang.
