Police said today: “We have officers attending a demonstration in front of a commercial building in Cabot Square in Canary Wharf.

“There are several agents on stage guarding the entrance to the building.
“Officers also continue to attend a demonstration of separate groups in Canary Wharf along Bank Street.
“Arrests have been made and units are still on the scene.”
They later confirmed that some computers were injured.
“Several protesters have become violent against the police,” they said.
“Four of our agents were injured during the clashes. This is unacceptable.
“It simply came to our notice then. Updates to follow “.
The JCVI has been studying whether or not to inoculate children with coronavirus.
It was understood that the green light could be given to young people aged 12 to 15 at school.

NHS England had confirmed that it was already hiring vaccinators to go to classrooms and vaccinate young people in the age group.
Meanwhile, the Department of Health and Welfare (DHSC) said it needs to be prepared in case approval is delivered.
But today, officials have said they will not recommend vaccinating students.
This decision will face a review by the UK’s four main medical officers before a final judgment is handed down.
The verdict seems likely to be a shock to the government.
Just a week ago, DHSC seemed to imply that approval would be given to vaccinate children.
A spokesman said: “If the JCVI recommends that the vaccine be offered to young people aged 12 to 15, we need to be prepared to start getting the vaccines as soon as possible.

“This is what parents across the country would rightly expect us to do, to protect their children.
“That is why the Government has asked the NHS to make the necessary preparations to ensure that they are ready to offer universal vaccination to children aged 12 to 15 from the beginning of September.”
The Modern COVID jab was given to children aged 12 to 17 in the UK.
Pfizer has also been approved for anyone over 12 years old.
Health Secretary Sajid Javid said the government has “planned ahead” during the pandemic so that it can “respond to changing circumstances and move forward quickly”.
