A massive fire broke out on Friday afternoon on a cruise ship docked off the coast of Greece.
According to the Greek news site Kathimerini, smoke streams were seen coming out of the MSC Lirica, which has been moored in a port in Corfu since January.
Fifty-one crew members were aboard the 2,300-vehicle ship when the fire started, but no one was injured, MSC Cruises told the Post.
The fire started on one of the ship’s fiberglass lifeboats and, in a preliminary investigation, the damage was found to be contained on the starboard side of the ship, MSC said.
The images show that two lifeboats attached to the starboard side of the ship had caught fire before the firefighters could respond to hell.
The cruise industry has been anchored for months amid the coronavirus pandemic.
