While some of us are looking to the next Pixel 6, there is another flagship on the horizon that is not too far away. Samsung’s next major version will be the Galaxy S22, a perfect phone for anyone who hasn’t yet been won over by the company’s folders. Today we are learning a little more about the power behind this device, including the carrying capacity of its location.
Over the last few generations of smartphones, Samsung has switched between the charging speeds of its flagship ships. The Galaxy Note9 and Galaxy S20 Ultra used 45W charging, but in developing the Galaxy S21 Ultra, the company lowered its speeds faster and returned to 25W. Compared to OnePlus, it is absolutely unfortunate, it is even rumored that Google will surpass this ranking with the Pixel 6 series. Fortunately, Samsung is raising its rating to the S22 Ultra, although it is not as high as one might expect.

According to leaker Ice Universe, the company’s next flagship will have a 45W load, reclaiming a feature Samsung dropped on its phones this year. It’s hard to call it an update when previous devices supported this speed, but it’s for those who want to abandon a Note9 or S20 Ultra early next year, rest assured you’ll keep your charging capabilities. You will need to have the charger on hand, of course, there will be none in the box.
Ice Universe has tweeted a couple of other details surrounding the Galaxy S22 series. Samsung is holding the drilling chamber for another generation instead of switching to a camera with a lower screen than Fold3. While it’s certainly less flashy than its folding counterpart, it makes sense. As interesting as UDCs are in theory, it is not yet a fully prepared feature for the general public.

The S22 Ultra is likely to use an Exynos 2200, which runs at fairly solid speeds alongside an AMD GPU. With Google developing its first internal chipset (never this one), performance competition could be stronger than ever this year. Here we hope that these new generation Android phones can give the newly announced iPhone 13 a lot of money.
