The National Directorate of Drug Control (DNCD) arrested on Monday at the International Airport of the Americas (AILA) a German national who tried to take 13 packages out of the country, presumably cocaine.
The 67-year-old foreigner was arrested before boarding a flight bound for Boston, USA, after an inspection of its equipment, where agents found the packages with the illicit substance.
At the time of his capture in German sand he had two passports, a cell phone, two watches and cash, among other evidences.
The packages of the substance were sent to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) for the corresponding fines.
The Public Ministry, in conjunction with DNCD intelligence agencies, initiated an investigation into the case, while coercive measures are known to the detainee in the next few hours.
This operation was carried out by DNCD officers with the support of the Specialized Airport Security Corps (CESAC), under the coordination of the Public Ministry.
