A Kansas woman arrested for joking at April Fools’ daughter, police say

The joke is about her.

A Kansas woman clenched her fists after pretending she had been shot as a joke by some April Fools, police said.

Arnthia Willis, 58, allegedly called her daughter Thursday, told her about the “shooting,” and then hung up, KAKE-TV reported, in Wichita.

Alarmed, the daughter called 911, prompting more than 15 police officers to respond to Willis ’home with protective gear complete with guns fired and EMS towed.

Officers broke down the door, but found no one inside, according to the report.

They later learned that Willis was working and that he had allegedly invented shooting as a joke.

The prankster was arrested on suspicion of an illegal request for assistance in emergency services.

Police Lt. Ronald Hunt said that while April Fools jokes may be “good,” when police are involved, “it’s no longer curious,” the Wichita Eagle reported.

“This is a very dangerous situation,” he said.
