A man dies after parachuting from the 23rd floor of a building in the US

A man died after jumping from a balcony on the 23rd floor of a building on the beach in Panama City, Northwest of Florida, USA, Authorities reported on Tuesday.

Police identified the victim as Timothy Ackerman, 31s, who apparently had problems with the parachute when opening it.



He clarified that Ackerman was shot on Sunday from a 23rd floor and not 14 as had been reported.

It was a call “Salt BASE”, Which is illegal in Florida and involves jumping from fixed objects, using a parachute to safely descend to the ground.

BASE corresponds to the acronym in English of four fixed objects from which you can jump: buildings, antennas, bridges and land (a cliff).
