A man who defended two women while they were assaulted at around 8:50 a.m. Wednesday night in the parking lot of the Banco Popular located on Avenida Luis Muñoz Rivera in Rio Pedres was killed by a shot to the chest, police confirmed.
According to the investigation into the incident, while a woman was at the bank ATM with a friend depositing money, an individual approached her carrying a firearm and announced the assault to them.
Then the companion of these, who was waiting together with a child under 8 years inside a Nissan Maximum vehicle realized the situation and came out in defense of women, being shot.
The victim was identified as Rubén Cabrera Aparicio, 54, a resident of San Juan.
Cabrera Aparicio was transported to the hospital San Francisco and from there he was referred to the Medical Center in Piedras River, where his death was certified.
Related to these facts, it resulted in a bullet impact to the right rear window of the Ford Fiesta vehicle, year 2014, white color which was traveling through the place in the direction of Cupey.
A .40 caliber cap was used in the scene.
Officer Be, assigned to the Homicide Division of the San Juan Criminal Investigation Corps, together with prosecutor Omar Domínguez, investigated the facts.
