A manipulator injured a two-year-old boy in the New York City subway on Saturday, the latest violent incident in the traffic system.
The attack occurred Saturday afternoon around 3 p.m. on a C train heading north to Manhattan.
The New York Post reports that the train was on West 116th Street and Douglas Boulevard when the beggar approached a mother and her boy, who were sitting on the train, to ask them for money.
When the beggar got too close, the mother asked, “Can you stay six feet away?”

The beggar, who has not been identified, did not comply with this request and stepped on the woman’s left foot.
“Why did you step on me?” asked the mother, before the land manipulator began to punch, connecting at least once with the little boy.
The little boy was left with visible wounds to his face and ear.
The attack only ended when a witness removed the suspect from the mother and son.
An ambulance transported the boy to Mount Sinai-St. Luke and he was later released.
Meanwhile, the suspect was able to flee when the train arrived at the next station. He is described as 40 years old, with a tattoo on his neck and a fashionable cut. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, washed jeans, boots, and a white mask.
PIX11 reports that it was not the only subway attack in Harlem over the weekend.
On Sunday, a 32-year-old man was attacked on train 2 heading north, near 110th Street and Lenox Stop.

There has been a sharp rise in subway violence over the past month in New York
The man suffered small lacerations to his limbs. The suspect in this attack, a man in dark clothes, has also avoided arrest.
The attacks come amid an increase in subway violence in recent weeks in New York City.
A 21-year-old court was charged with killing two homeless people on train A in early February and is being held without bail.
Rigoberto López is also accused of attempted murder after killing two more people during his deadly storm.

The police presence on the subway is growing, although the MTA is calling for more support

Traffic workers are calling for the resumption of the 24-hour subway schedule, which was suspended in May to allow the station to be cleaned due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Employees say night hours when the subway is not currently operating have become dangerous.
The MTA claims that five subway workers have been assaulted during the night hours when trains are stopped.
Meanwhile, since August, there have been about 300 allegations of harassment against subway workers.
Two more hours are currently being added to the operation of the system, although two hours without service will be maintained from 2:00 to 4:00 each night to clean them.
Recently, the MTA called for the deployment of 1,500 more agents to the NYPD subway system.
In contrast, the NYPD sent less than half on Tuesday, adding 644 police officers to subway stations.
The traffic system has suffered greatly since the beginning of the pandemic, with a reduction in the number of passengers around 90%, as people work more often from home.
