A mother of three in California who has been missing since early January reportedly sent a disastrous warning to family members days before her disappearance, blaming her husband if anything happened to her.
“If anything happened to me, it would be Larry,” Maya Millete told relatives during a camping trip in early January, referring to her husband, Larry Millete, a family member on Fox News.
Maya Millete disappeared days later on January 7 after scheduling an appointment with a divorce lawyer, the media reported, citing family lawyer Billy Little.
The Chula Vista police department has found no evidence of brutal gambling in Maya’s disappearance.
“We certainly have people who remain crucial witnesses to his disappearance,” said police spokesman Eric Thunberg.
“We are in frequent communication with our regional partners about this case and we are working to identify evidence, locate it, analyze it and track where it leads,” Thunberg said.
Larry initially speculated that Maya had left Chula Vista to spend some time alone. Since then, he has stopped cooperating with police, officials said.
Maya’s brother-in-law, Richard Drouaillet, who was traveling, told Fox News that Larry would blame Maya for her marital problems.
“He just seemed desperate, you know,” you have to listen to me. It’s your fault, it’s your fault, ”Drouaillet said, telling Larry in a phone call late last summer.
“He was more of an aggressor, trying to get involved,” Drouaillet said. “He was trying to put us on his side, when we heard it was a lot of lies he was telling us.”
