A new death of COVID-19 and 102 new cases in Tuolumne

Tuolumne Public Health reports a new death from COVID-19, a 60-year-old man who was not vaccinated. The public health team offers its condolences to the families and friends of the people.

Tuolumne Salut Pública reports 102 new cases identified since Friday. There were 41 cases, all community, Saturday and 61 today, 59 community and 2 inmates of the Sierra Conservation Center. There are 272 active community cases, including 16 hospitalized. The total rate of current cases, a continuous average of 14 days for Tuolumne County, is up to 62.8 per 100,000 population from Thursday’s previous high of 57.3. Of the 100 new community cases, 18 were vaccinated; 10 Modern, 6 Pfizer, 2 Johnson & Johnson.

New cases include 17 cases over the age of 17 and 18 cases over the age of 60. The breakdown of gender and age for is; 2 girls and 4 boys from 0-11 years, 7 girls and 4 boys from 12 to 17 years, 8 women and 8 men from 18 to 29 years, 8 women and 8 men from 30 to 39 years, 11 women and 9 men from 40 to 49 years, 7 women and 6 men from 50 to 59 years, 7 women and 7 men from 60 to 69 years, 1 woman and a man from 70 to 79 years and 1 woman and 1 man from 80 to 89 years.

A total of 22,564 Tuolumne residents are fully vaccinated and 4,046 are partially vaccinated. The vaccination rate is 53% of eligible people in Tuolumne, 12 years of age or older. The California Department of Corrections reports 14 active cases at the Sierra Conservation Center (SCC). A total of 1,554 prisoner cases have been resolved, including all southern fire camps.

Tuolumne Public Health is conducting a vaccination clinic against COVID Pfizer as detailed here. Public health of the county of Calaveras Calaveras reported 24 new cases of Covid since Friday. Active cases decreased to 97 from 189 active cases on Friday. The highest active cases of Calaveras reached 123 during the first wave of COVID-19 in December / January. There is an active Covid hospitalization. There are 9 new cases from 0 to 17 years and one new case in people aged 65 or over. Since the pandemic began, Calaveras has had 315 Covid-19-positive people aged 17 and under and 509 Covid-19-positive people aged 65 and over.

Butterfly County Public Health informs the the largest increase in COVID-19 cases to date 40 new cases since Friday, including 2 cases under 11, 4 from 12 to 19 and 12 cases from 60 and older. A total of 15 of the 40 new cases were not vaccinated, 18 are under investigation and 7 are fully vaccinated.

This afternoon, before the 40 new cases, Mariposa Health officials were added, saying that “on July 22 the increase in COVID-19 cases like no other we have seen in Mariposa County began. Last month, we reported 238 new COVID-19 infections. From the end of March 2020 to the end of December 2020 we even had 238 cases in our county. Of the 238 cases identified this past month, 14 were hospitalized due to their infection. 9 of these people are still in hospital receiving significant medical attention. Only 2 of the 14 have been released and we are deeply saddened to have lost 3 of these individuals. Butterfly County is experiencing our largest increase in COVID-19 cases. More cases lead to more hospitalizations, more deaths. More cases involve less healthy staff to keep companies open. More cases involve more risk. Now is the time to act, to take responsibility. If we can all do our part, we can stop this increase. ”

Tuolumne tests The state test site is located at the Mother Lode fairgrounds in Sonora and is scheduled to open every day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Due to the increased demand, appointments should be arranged instead of entered.
