The New York Giants welcomed fans to MetLife Stadium for the first time since 2019 this past Sunday, and it turned out to be a disappointing experience.
The Denver Broncos opened the gates to the Giants, which led to more than 80,000 fans running to the exits in the middle of the second half.
“We have to earn the respect of the fans, in white. These people come out here and spend their money. They sit in the seats, they encourage us, they give us energy inside the seats. We have to give them something to cheer them on, ”head coach Joe Judge told reporters after a 27-13 loss.
“It is not his job to introduce himself and encourage only joy. This is not his job. His job is to entertain himself. They buy a ticket, that means they buy the right to cheer, boo, stay, leave, whatever they want to do. We need to give them something to keep them going. We need to give them something to encourage. As a team, we are at our disposal, we have to do a better job for that ”.
The product of the field was not the only one that left the Giants fans soaked on Sunday.
The MetLife stadium has moved to a digital ticketing system, which slowed entry to the stadium. There were several complaints about this and the new cashless system on social media.
But these issues are pale compared to the experience of at least one Giants fan, who managed to get to their seats long before the start and intended to enjoy a hot dog.
The problem? The dog came with a side crammed with twisting worms.

Delaware North, the official dealer of MetLife Stadium, learned of the poor food order and told Giants Wire it was an isolated incident.
“We take the sanitation of our facilities very seriously. Upon learning well before the beginning of Sunday that a single vessel of tomato sauce had been committed, we took immediate action and discarded the vessel and thoroughly inspected other seasoning stations. As an additional precautionary measure, we are sanitizing all condiment pumps and increasing the availability of single-service condiment packages, ”Delaware North said in a statement.
What a tough start for the Giants organization, MetLife Stadium and Delaware North from top to bottom.
