A referee kicks the entire crew off the field during the Yankees-Orioles game in a strange scene

Well, that quickly increased.

In a strange scene during the Yankees-Orioles game Wednesday night in Baltimore, referee Tim Timmons kicked the entire crew off the field during the ninth inning.

In the middle of a light rain, the crew was placed behind the canvas, ready to unfold it after the end of the game to protect the field. But Timmons had nothing to do with it, as he pointed to the crew and threw them out of the game.

After a brief confusion, the crew seemed to understand the order and went jogging in an orderly fashion. Predictably, the rain intensified almost as they left the field.

The crew was sent off at the top of the ninth inning with runners in second and third place, and the Yankees behind, 3-2. Then, Brett Gardner hit a single to put the Yankees in a 4-3 position, which ended up giving the Yankees the win.

It was not exactly clear why exactly Timmons drove the crew off the ground. It was definitely a surprise to everyone.
