A senior health official warns that the infection could “continue” if not enough people are vaccinated

The Korean Institute for Disease Control and Prevention (KTCA) said in a statement on Monday that South Korea reported 718 new cases of Kovit-19 on Sunday.

Of the new cases, 682 were spread locally, of which 473 were reported in the Seoul metropolitan area, according to the KDCA release. This brings the total number of cases in the country to 43,484.

In addition, seven patients died on Sunday, bringing the death toll to 587.

Strict restrictions Warning: On Sunday, South Korean President Moon Jae-in will begin reviewing the possibility of elevating South Korea’s Govt-19 response to the third highest level of social exclusion, closing most facilities and restricting meetings to 10 people or less.

Health Minister Park Neung-hoo said the government would protect more than 10,000 hospital beds in the next three weeks.
