A sergeant who appeared carrying a baby died at Kabul airport

A photo featuring U.S. Navy Sergeant Nicole Gee carrying a baby went viral on social media this week. The 23-year-old is one of 13 U.S. servicemen killed in the attack at Hamid Karzai Airport in Kabul, Afghanistan, recorded last Thursday.

Prior to the attack, Sergeant Gee shared a photo on her Instagram account where she is seen carrying an Afghan baby at Kabul airport.

“I love my job”, Wrote Nicole Gee next to the picture of the child and her post soon went viral on social media.

This image of Sergeant Gee and the Afghan baby went viral, even the Department of Defense shared this image on its Twitter account highlighting the work of the U.S. military in Afghanistan.

Sergeant Gee, 23, had been promoted to sergeant and thoroughly enjoyed her job. He stated this on his social networks.

“I never would have imagined having my rise as a sergeant deservedly in Kuwait”, Gee posted to her Instagram account.

Nicole Gee, of California, worked as a maintenance technician in the 24th Lejeune Field Navy Expeditionary Unit in North Carolina.
