Days after Bitcoin was launched as a legal tender in El Salvador and several Salvadorans who have tried to use the Chivo Wallet have expressed concern about the failures it has presented, President Nayib Bukele admitted Monday night the mistakes that the implementation of the state application has had and acknowledged that it was “too high a challenge (launching everything in three months)”, as noted by computer experts who have questioned the launch described as improvised.
Although through a series of tweets the president mentioned the benefits that, according to him, the app entails, he also referred to the technical problems that it has had and said that they are working to rectify the situation.
“The technical errors of @chivowallet are corrected by 95%. In the coming days it will be working at 100%,” reads point number one of 12, which he listed on the social network to talk about the application and the use of the cryptoactive.
He clarified that, at the moment, “new registrations are not enabled, nor is the app download for new phone models,” but promised that “two things will be enabled until the app has no errors (they will be a couple more days) “.

Since September 7, when Bitcoin came into force in the country, the Chivo Wallet has reported failures in its operation, many Salvadorans have externalized their bad experience with its use, there are those who have complained about not have managed to perform their transaction so that the application is locked frequently. “Those who have had problems with balance transfers to bank accounts or payments, will be contacted by our technical team once the bank interconnection is resolved. This will take one or two days, but all balances are registered and guaranteed,” he said. Bukele.
He also referred to people who have not been successful with their registration in the app.
“There are some blocked profiles because they had a registration error (not completed) when the app was still in trouble, these users will be deleted so they can re-register once their users are available again,” he said. .
