A Florida woman says she returned home from fighting COVID-19 in hospital at a “nightmare” scene with her husband dead after also contracting the virus.
Lisa Steadman, 58, said she was horrified to walk Wednesday to discover the body of her husband Ron, 55, in the bedroom of her home in Winter Haven, Fox13 News reported.
“It was like getting into a horror movie and I wish I had never seen it like that because I can’t get that image out of my head,” he told the station.
Steadman said neither of them had been vaccinated before they both tested positive for the virus.
After developing symptoms that made her disappear, she was taken to the emergency room at Winter Haven Hospital.

“I thought he was going to die. I couldn’t breathe. I couldn’t stop shooting, ”he told the dam.
While she was in the hospital for eight days, Steadman struggled to keep in touch with her husband, who had problems with her phone, she said.
“I was told that his phone was working and that he would not be charged. On Monday, I couldn’t stay. So I sent the Winter Haven police department to do a welfare check. They talked to him. It was okay, ”he told WFLA.

When she couldn’t reach him the next day, she assumed it was phone problems again.
But when he returned home Wednesday, he discovered the tragic scene.
“It simply came to our notice then. Just a nightmare, “he told WFLA.
“I can’t get that image out of my mind. I wish I had never found him like that, ”he added.

Steadman said doctors told him he died of COVID-related complications.
“He was a humble, more likeable family man, willing to help anyone and God-fearing,” he said.
Steadman, who still has problems with the virus’s symptoms, said he plans to get vaccinated next month.
“Now, after I’ve been to the hospital and talking to my doctor, when I can take it, I’ll do it in September,” he told WFLA.
