A wrong driver blamed the morning wreck that killed 3 people

LIMESTONE COUNTY, Texas (KWTX) – A 17-year-old woman and two other people died Sunday morning after a two-vehicle crash on Central Texas Highway.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a Kia Optima was traveling westward through U.S. 84 when it collided head-on with a Nissan Versa. The impact caused the Nissan to burn.

The Texas Department of Public Safety responded to a two-vehicle crash in U.S. 84, 5 miles east of Prairie Hill, shortly after 2:20 a.m. this morning.

For some unknown reason, a westbound Kia Optima was traveling on the wrong side of the road and crashed head-on into an eastbound Nissan Altima, causing the Nissan to be completely engulfed in flames.

The driver of the Kia, a 17-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. The second passenger of the Kia was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Both the driver and passenger of the Nissan were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Texas Department of Public Safety will release the identification of the driver and passenger of the Nissan after the next of kin has been alerted. The investigation is ongoing.

Move to the right and try to notice yourself by sounding the horn and flashing the lights.
