A year of coercive measure by Julito Quilo

The judge of the Office of Permanent Attention of the Department of Justice of San Pedro de Macoris imposed a year of pretrial detention in July of Saints Baptist, alias Julito Quilo, during a hearing that was known this Thursday.

Julito Quilo is accused by the Public Ministry and the National Directorate of Drug Control (DNCD) of various crimes and assassinations related to the drug business.

According to what was revealed by prosecutor Idalia Jiménez, the Public Ministry has 47 evidence against the defendants, which will be presented in a trial on the merits.

According to intelligence reports handled by authorities, Julito Quilo was regarded as the most important and violent narco operating today.

Saints Baptista was captured last Saturday by members of the National Directorate of Drug Control in an operation where high-tech equipment was said to have been used.

The defendant had been captured and convicted in the United States and repatriated to the Dominican Republic after serving his sentence, and involved in several cases.

In 2019 he was captured on Avinguda del Port by a patrol that found several illegal weapons, on which occasion he was imposed a measure of coercion of periodic presentation and was linked to several murders and illegal actions. Linked to drug trafficking, for which he was wanted by the authorities.
