The President of the Republic Luis Abinader arrived this Sunday morning in Madrid, Spain on a two-day visit, prior to continuing in Andorra where he will participate in the Twenty-seventh Iberoamerican Summit to be held on Tuesday and Wednesday of the next week.
The president immediately announced his first meeting with the former president of Spain, Felipe González.
“We started our work agenda in the city of #Madrid, with a meeting with the former President of the Government of #Spain, Mr. Felipe González,” President Abinader wrote on Twitter.
Reception and agenda
The president arrived at Adolfo Suárez Airport at 10:40 am (Spanish time), accompanied by Dominican Chancellor Roberto Álvarez and ProDominican director Biviana Riveiro.
Also of the head of his security, Major General Celín Rubio, his assistants Lourdes Herrera and Eilyn Beltrán.
Abinader was received by a mission of the Spanish government and the Dominican ambassadors Joan Bolívar Díaz (Spain) and Aníbal de Castro before the World Tourism Organization (WTO), and that of Spain in the Dominican Republic, Alejandro Abellan.
For today, the Dominican President has scheduled a meeting with former President Felipe González, at 1:00 this afternoon, local time, later, 2:00 PM, will move to the UNWTO headquarters where he will hold a meeting with the entity’s general secretary Zurab Pololikashvili, who will then offer him a lunch.
By 4:30 p.m., President Abinader will meet with a commission of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM).
The presidential agenda also includes a meeting with former Spanish President José María Aznar at 6:00 PM.
At 8:00 pm, personalities from the Dominican community based in Spain offer a dinner to the Dominican president and his entourage.
He is scheduled to attend a hearing with King Philip VI on Monday.
