Abinader participates in a workshop organized by the Corps of Engineers of the United States Army

President Luis Abinader considered on Tuesday that the project to rehabilitate and expand the Port of Manzanillo is vital to positioning the Dominican Republic at the highest levels of competitiveness in the entire region.

It is, he stressed, a macro project that has a significant investment for its implementation by the Inter-American Development Bank, and will generate hundreds of direct and indirect jobs.

Emphasizing that it is a major transformation that brings with it positive changes for the country, he stressed that its construction will boost the local economy as well as maritime trade activity to and from the Dominican Republic.

“It’s a commitment to an interconnected, global world that moves goods and provides services to all parts of the planet,” President Abinader said at a working meeting with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

The president thanked the American specialists for their help, advice and contributions in the implementation of this goal, which is so important for the country of the future that it is building in its management.
