President Luis Abinader has guaranteed that the country has enough vaccines to conclude the second phase of the Vaccination Plan.
“Here we still have a vaccine to conclude with the second phase, we have enough vaccines,” the president said when asked about the arrival of the million doses of the Chinese Sinovac vaccine that had to reach the country on March 25th.
The president, who addressed the press while supervising the vaccination process at Pedro Henríquez Ureña University (UNPHU), explained that the pharmaceutical company has had supply problems so it does not know exactly the day of arrival.
“It is planned to come in the coming days, you know that with the situation you see the international news there are problems and terms of supply, they do not tell you exactly the day but in the coming days must be arriving as we have confirmed” .
The president said that according to the projections, it is expected that by the week that will culminate with the second dose to start inoculation with those over 60 years old.
The head of state said that the vaccination process is going as expected and that people have gone to the vaccination centers although some have not gone on their due day.
“The vaccination process is going well, we are calculating, according to the projections, at each stage and according to the figures that are living around 80 percent of those vaccinated in the first stage, but this will be fulfilled, there are some that one day and other days are coming, but this is organized, we hope it ends the way we planned. “
