According to sources, players send a text message to Matthew Stafford to join him in the Los Angeles Rams

Just as Tom Brady had attracted free agents to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Matthew Stafford is expected to do the same with the Los Angeles Rams.

Shortly after the Rams and Detroit Lions agreed on a trade that would send Stafford west, the quarterback began receiving texts from players who wanted to come to Los Angeles for sources.

It’s very similar to what happened last March, after Brady and the Bucs came to an agreement. The players began contacting Brady and the Buccaneers, expressing interest in moving to Tampa to be a great quarterback and a good time. They wanted to be part of an organization that has now become the first team in NFL history to play in a Super Bowl at their home stadium.

Stafford had a similar experience last weekend and the Rams will try to become the second consecutive team to play in the Super Bowl at their stadium. Super Bowl LVI will be held at SoFi Stadium.

One of those players who is expected to be interested in joining Stafford in Los Angeles is Lions receiver Marvin Jones Jr., according to sources. Jones is scheduled to be a free agent this winter and grew up in Fontana, California, and later attended Cal. The Rams and Jones seem like a natural fit even before the free agency starts on March 17th.

There will be others as well. The Rams will have a recruiting advantage over some teams with the city where they play, the stadium they brag about and the quarterback they have.
