At the moment, the selections are very small for anyone looking for an HDMI 2.1 monitor to combine with a new PS5 or Xbox Series console, but that is about to change thanks, in part, to the new Nitro monitor of 28 inches of Steel.
With a 4K (3840 x 2160) IPS panel with a refresh rate of 144Hz and a 1 ms response, the $ 900 Nitro XV282K KV combines VRR compatibility or variable refresh rates when connected to one of the new next generation consoles. As an alternative, for PC gamers, the Nitro XV282K KV also includes AMD FreeSync Premium, while the new TÜV Rheinland Eyesafe monitor certification has been added to help reduce harmful blue light.
With 90% coverage of the DCI-PR color range and a contrast ratio of 100 million to 1, the Nitro XV282K KV should produce rich colors and good contrast. While not super powerful, the Nitro XV282K KV even includes built-in 2-watt dual stereo speakers, so owners of next-generation consoles won’t be limited exclusively to audio headphones.
And of course, the Nitro XV282K KV comes with an HDMI 2.1 port, which is needed to unlock the ability of PS5 and Xbox Series X to generate a 4K / 120 fps game on a connected screen. So while the Nitro XV282K KV is a bit pricey at $ 900, for people hoping to get the best performance from the next-generation console, Acer’s latest Nitro monitor looks strong.

Aside from the new Nitro XV282K KV, Acer also has two other new monitors for the PC crowd on the new 31.5-inch Predator XB323QK and the 27-inch Predator XB273U NX.
The larger Predator XB323QK NV starts at $ 1,200 and comes with a 4K resolution of 3840 x 2160 with a refresh rate of 144Hz, a 90% DCI-P3 color gamut and VESA HDR400 certification. And while it doesn’t have AMD FreeSync support, Acer says the Predator XB323QK NV is compatible with Nvidia G-Sync.
Meanwhile, the smaller 27-inch Predator XB273U NX starts at $ 1,100 and is aimed at competitive gamers with a QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440, a response time of 0.5 ms and a refresh rate of 240Hz which is can overclock to 275Hz. Like its older sibling, the XB273U NX also features a VESA HDR400-certified IPS panel, with the small 27-inch monitor receiving an additional discreet Nvidia G-Sync module that supports New Nvidia Reflex Latency Analyzer system, which tries to calculate how long it takes your PC and its peripherals to detect inputs to help increase responsiveness.
In North America, all three monitors are expected to go on sale sometime in May, with the $ 900 Nitro XV282K KV and the 27-inch Predator XB273U NX and the 31.5-inch Predator XB323QK NV that they will cost $ 1,100 and $ 1,200 respectively.
