ONE Flyweight champion Adriano Moraes (19-3) became the first man to get a stoppage victory against former UFC champion Demetrious Johnson (30-4-1), stopping him with attacks on the second round of his outstanding fight on ONE on TNT I.
The contest served as the main MMA contest for Wednesday’s event, which took place at Singapore’s indoor stadium and was broadcast live on TNT in the United States.
The taller Moraes stayed out early, constantly shifting sideways and forcing Johnson to try to pressure the action from within range. Finally, Moraes took a kick from his opponent and then fell to the canvas and tried to threaten his leg. Although Moraes was unable to finish the presentation, the subsequent struggle saw him move to first position, where the round ended.
Moraes remained mobile in the second, with Johnson changing position smoothly and looking to press. The aggression was impressive, but it would recede, with Moraes sneaking into a clear combination of two blows against an advancing opponent that knocked him to the ground. Moraes took advantage of a stunned opponent, scoring a legal knee to a downed enemy and securing victory at the stop at 2:24 of the second box.

The ONE Championship race in the United States got off to a pretty frustrating start, with Eddie Alvarez (10-8) disqualified in the first round of his lightweight contest with Yuri Lapicus (15-1).
After a brief sensation process to start the fight, Alvarez fired inside to pull it off and was able to drag the action to the canvas in the opening minute. Sitting near the cage and with his opponent in a dominant position, Lapicus turned his face toward the fence, leaving only the back of his head exposed. Alvarez threw some straight hands that landed at the base of the skull, and Lapicus screamed before falling back onto the canvas.
Referee Justin Brown intervened immediately as Alvarez headed for the hammer fists. After a brief moment of confusion, Brown presented a red card to Alvarez.

After making the call, a clearly emotional Alvarez said he thought the beatings were legal, but apologized for the transgression and expressed concern about his opponent’s well-being as they removed him on a stretcher.
“You guys put me in a cage,” Alvarez said. “The referee is here. Whatever call you make, that’s it. Sorry. I hope Yuri is well. “
Alvarez, a former UFC and Bellator champion, has now won just one win in three appearances in the ONE Championship.
The opening game of the night saw heavy potential Oumar Kane (3-0), better known as “Reug Reug”, maintain his perfect career record without any flaws with a first elimination from the first round of the kickboxer Patrick Schmid (0-1).
Kane had the patience to open the contest, but eventually crowded in with punches, making his way inward before taking action on the ground. Schmid struggled to get back on his feet while Kane withdrew with punches, and the fight was agitated at 1:48 of the first round.
