The Electric Power Authority (AEE) reported tonight that a charge relay began “after event at Unit # 3 of Pal Sec”.
The EEA also noted that technical staff is investigating the situation.
The president of the Union of Workers of the Electrical and Irrigation Industry (UTIER), Ángel Figueroa Jaramillo, clarified through his social networks that there was no fire in Pal Sec, after it began to spread on social networks the opposite.
“There was no fire. Broken pipe of the boiler. It is a breakdown that must be corrected in a day if there are no complications,” Figueroa Jaramillo commented.

For its part, the LUMA Energy consortium indicated tonight about interruptions in electricity service in multiple municipalities on the island, due to “limited generation.”
According to LUMA, the service interruptions are in sectors of Caguas, Guayama, Mayagüez, Aguadilla, Bayamón, Añasco, Arecibo, Coamo, Maricao, Adjuntas, Lares, Santa Isabel, Anthills, Ponce, San Sebastián, Carolina, Toa Baixa, Dorado, St. John, and Gurabo.
