“Anwari, like thousands of young Afghans, wanted to leave the country, but fell off a US plane and died,” the agency said in a statement posted on Facebook.

In a poignant video filmed Monday from the runway, hundreds of people are seen running alongside a plane from the United States Air Force which is about to take off, with several people trying to hold on to the aircraft. Other sequences appear to show two people suffering a fatal crash from a C-17 aircraft after takeoff.

Human remains were later found on the landing gear, the U.S. military confirmed, adding that it is investigating any deaths linked to the C-17 takeoff.
