In 2020, when the effects of the pandemic were even more evident, the Culture Department of Mallén City Council applied to Trec for a grant for a project entitled Agile.
As described by Elisa Pelayo, one of its creators, the objectives of this project are:
• Enhance the mental abilities of users.
• Improve the functionality and physical condition of the elderly.
• Offer guided entertainment to increase their quality of life through motivational techniques.
• Social inclusion, favoring the breaking of the technological gap, integrating older adults into new technologies in a simple, gradual way and adapted to their characteristics.
• Intergenerationality, preventing isolation in the rural world.
Through a mobile phone, those enrolled in this activity, free and funded mostly by Trec and also by the City of Mallén, will have access to a series of tests and trials, which as if a game were to increase their quality of life.
The project is currently being developed in six communities with 1,000 students.
Mallén is expected to start in the second half of September and those over the age of 60 who have a mobile phone can take part. Registrations will be made at the town hall and places are limited. Before starting, there will be a talk with the registrants.
