AI makes real versions of anime and manga characters possible

Machine learning can be used to make realistic versions of manga characters.

We have already seen how AI can give street fighter characters human faces. Now, let’s see what it does with the manga ones.

YouTuber AImikan took pictures of manga characters and fed them through the site of composite images of artificial intelligence Artbreeder.

But Photoshop, that’s not the case.

Smiles are definitely important when creating new artificial intelligence images.

For example, it is not possible to simply add a mole or scare here or there. The process is not passive, but can involve time and tax. AImikan can spend up to thirty minutes on a single character and up to five hours.

The site allows users to upload images, compose them with artificial intelligence images, and then tweak their creations. In portrait mode, there there are different categories, such as “Age”, “Open Eyes”, “Happy” and more that can be increased or decreased, changing the appearance.

This allows users to create realistic (or sometimes vaguely realistic) versions of the characters.

A AImikan channel, the YouTuber explains that the goal is to challenge whether it is possible to recreate anime manga characters with machine learning.

“Because it will be played through machine learning, there will be‘ characters who are not very similar, ’” On AImikan wrote, asking viewers to forgive some aspects.

What makes its use with manga characters so fascinating is that, as in many video game characters, they are very stylized representations of people. However, a key difference is that the manga characters are two-dimensional drawings. Compared to many 3D video game characters, the gameplay between manga characters and real humans is even bigger.

Plus, with so many sleeves receiving live-action movie updates, AI versions provide a fascinating look at fantasy casting options. They are not real people. But if they were, some would be perfect.

But not all, because the use of AI has certain limitations. Unlike Photoshop, where your imagination can fly, Artbreeder operates within the parameters of machine learning. This, however, is what makes the results interesting.
