Green Bay Packers rookie AJ Dillon performed to a national audience with a performance against the Tennessee Titans Sunday night at a snowy Lambeau Field.
Dillon, the Packers ’second-round pick, ran 21 times to get 124 yards on the run and his first two touchdowns in the NFL during Green Bay’s 40-14 victory over the Titans. His first score came in fourth and covered 30 yards, placing the Packers 33-14 in the second half. His second consisted of a truck stick moment on a defensive liner going towards the end zone, delivering the dagger to the fourth quarter.
The victim of the final destruction of the rookie was Matt Dickerson, the Titans defender, who was hit by Dillon’s path while trying to throw a block near the finish line.
According to Pro Football Focus, Dillon broke nine attacks, averaged more than 4.4 yards after contact and contributed seven runs that ended in touchdowns or first downs.
Dillon became the Packers ’first rookie to run at least 120 yards and score at least two touchdowns in a game in team history. He is only the twelfth rookie in the NFL since 2015 to run 120 yards and score at least two touchdowns in a single game.
