Alaska Airlines has introduced a new one minute security video. The airline, which has been focusing on new healthcare initiatives since the onset of the epidemic, is trying to make normal health announcements fun and exciting, which will become the norm in most airlines.

“Safety Dance” features domestic and all Alaska employees. The video, though only a minute long, was filmed in two days with 11 employees. The set is the coach and maintenance hanger for Alaska’s Boeing cabin located in Seattle.
Creating video
Warren Fu directed “Defense Dance”. He is best known for his work with other artists including Dua Liba, The Weekend, Taft Punk, and HIM. Anna Maduszhevsky performed this dance. Matzzewski had previously worked with McLamore.
Staff were selected in a variety of ways for the video. Some are from the Alaska Flight Assistant Drill Team. The group dances to the Torchlight Parade and other events around the world via Seattle. Others were selected based on their workgroups, skills and desire to dance and leader recommendations.
However that is not enough. Staff were given videos of the dance in advance. They have to practice at home before coming to settle. It seems that all the staff were ready to go to the shooting. The day before, however, all staff had undergone a full eight-hour dress rehearsal. This is where the group completes the moves with the choreographer.
Seattle-based Harrison Air flight attendant Natalie, who was in the video, said in a statement that she saw Simple Flying:
“From director to dance, cameras, music, makeup and hair artists are like being in a movie set. The day was full of excitement and anticipation. It was very professional, well organized and of course I was a part of my top 10 things. ”
Michael, a Horizon Air floor service agent, added:
“I have never danced before in my life. I focused on working hard during the rehearsal. I practiced the moves to pull all of this off successfully. ”
Sangeeta Warner, Senior Vice President, Marketing and Guest Experience, Alaska Airlines, said in a statement:
“Our employees have always been our brand’s enthusiastic players and champions – they have been the driving force of our 88 – year history. Above all, we know that teamwork, kindness, personality and safety are key to our recovery.”
Creating the Heritage of the Virgin America
Alaska Airlines and Virgin America merged. That merger, completed only in December 2016, led to the termination of the Virgin America brand. Virgin America was formerly known as a humorous airline, with its own pre-departure security explanation, which was a little fun and weird. The final Virgin America flight took off in 2018. Alaska Airlines now claims to be building on that history. These safety measures, established at the onset of the epidemic, have entered into airlines’ pre-flight safety specifications. Alaska Airlines is taking this even further, making it a little more impressive.
It’s a way to have a little fun for Alaska and its staff. The past few months have been difficult for the airline, its customers and its staff. Now, the airline is using those safety measures to have a little fun before flying for its crew and some passengers. However, it remains to be seen whether other airlines will follow suit.
