The President of the Republic Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, at the proposal of the Ministry of Culture, has decided to award the “Alejo Carpentier” Medal to 12 renowned Cuban intellectuals and artists, “in recognition of his active and outstanding work in favor of the development and enrichment of the national culture “, according to Presidential Decree 205, published this March 5 in the Official Gazette of the Republic.
The honorees with the medal that bears the name of the famous Cuban writer and intellectual, Cervantes Prize for Literature, are:
