Alex Albon: ‘I won’t lie, I’m hurt’

Thai Alex Albon said he was frustrated, but reiterated that he will not give up on having a seat in 2022

AUSTRIA – Alex Albon he said that after losing his place in Red Bull Racing he was frustrated and hurt, after remaining as a test driver for the Austrian team that recently gave the seat to the Mexican Sergio ‘Czech’ Pérez.

“I’m not going to lie to them, it hurts. I gave my all, but it wasn’t enough. I want to thank everyone who supported me this year, especially the Thai fans. With all the different opinions that there was, you never stopped supporting me, ”Albon said in a post via his Instagram account.

He has also expressed that he will look for a way to return with a seat in the 2022 season and that his dream will not stop here.

“I will not give up. All my life I have wanted this and I will not stop here. I have more to give and I am focused on coming back for 2022 and waving the flag of Thailand once again,” he added.

Albon, Who has dual Thai and British nationality, was Max Verstappen’s teammate for the 2020 season at Red Bull; however, the team decided to vacate its seat and this Friday has confirmed Sergio Pérez as the companion of the Dutch driver.

Pérez it will thus arrive at a more renowned team after its passage with Racing Point, same that before was Force India and that helped to save of a financial crisis. 2020 was the best season for the Mexican and he won his first title at the Bahrain Grand Prix.
