Murdaugh, whose wife and 22-year-old son were shot dead in June, is part of at least two other state investigations.

Shortly after the resignations of Peters, Murdaugh, Parker, Eltzroth and Detrick on Sept. 6, the South Carolina state police division announced it was investigating allegations that Murdaugh stole money from his law firm. .

Earlier Wednesday, the same agency opened an investigation into the death of Gloria Satterfield, a Murdaugh homeowner.

Satterfield, 57, died in February 2018 after a “travel and fall accident” at the family home, according to a new lawsuit filed by the housewife’s children.

More than 3 1/2 years later, “the exact details of the fall remain unclear,” even to the children and heirs of the cleanup, said a Hampton County lawsuit claiming unspecified damages.
