Alex Rodriguez shows up on Instagram to the NBA who said he didn’t know him

Over the weekend, it was revealed that former MLB star Alex Rodriguez and billionaire Marc Lore will become the new owners of the Minnesota Timberwolves. The powerful duo have earned exclusive trading rights over the next 30 days and are expected to finalize a deal with the Wolves ’current owner, Glen Taylor, during that time period.

With Rodriguez ready to take control of the NBA franchise, several Timberwolves players, including big star Karl-Anthony Towns, are on board with the former New York Yankees forward taking control. However, rookie Anthony Edwards is not so familiar with Rodriguez. In fact, Edwards doesn’t even know who Rodriguez is.

“I don’t know who he is,” Edwards said when asked if Rodriguez would take over the team. “I know he’ll be the owner. But I don’t know anything about baseball.”

After Edwards said he didn’t know who Rodriguez was, A-Rod shared a post on Instagram about the situation and said “Hi Anthony. I’m Alex!”. Edwards shared the post on his Instagram story and said “how good my boy” with a laughing emoji.

Before Edwards is scolded, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 draw is just 19 years old and A-Rod has been retired since 2016. Also, the Timberwolves rookie admits he’s not a baseball fan. While A-Rod is a name many athletes know, it may not see many sports off the track.

Even if he doesn’t know who A-Rod is now, Edwards will meet him in the next few years when Rodriguez owns the team. Rodriguez and Lore will take full control of the Timberwolves from 2023, according to a report by Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic. The two will also own the Minnesota Lynx from the WNBA as part of the deal.
