Alex Saab he just received another bad news about his lawsuits. Upon approval of his extradition by the Supreme Court of Cape Verde a U.S. court ruling has just been added.
Judge Robert N. Scola, Jr. he has just denied her a motion in which her lawyers asked that her status as a fugitive be canceled and that she be allowed to defend herself through a special, non-physical presentation.

At the hearing, the defense insisted on Saab’s immunity, for being special envoy and government diplomat of Nicolas Maduro.
Scola’s response was forceful: “Saab Moran is prevented from attacking his fugitive status and the indictment against him, until he is physically present in that jurisdiction.”
EL TEMPS was present at the hearing on March 15, in which the motion was requested and this also appeared (virtually), the Saab partner, model Camila Fabbri who was moved a couple of years ago months from Caracas to Moscow.
In accordance with the decision, Judge Scola dismissed Saab’s arguments with his lawyers that “he has no reason to go to the United States of his own free will” and warned that in his capacity as a Venezuelan diplomat, this government opposes his indictment.

According to the judge, Saab Moran does not cite any authority that supports this proposal.
Accordingly, the Court finds that the fugitive dismissal doctrine applies in this case and prevents Saab Moran from preventing his status as a fugitive or future challenges to his indictment. Accordingly, the motion is denied on this ground.
