Alicia Silverstone has received criticism over the years for deciding to raise her son Bear Blu on a strictly vegetable diet.
But the 44-year-old star Clueless recently revealed that her son is “an example of health” who “never” needed “medical intervention” in his nine years.
“This is a plant child. I have never needed antibiotics in nine years or have ever needed any medical intervention …” Silverstone said in an interview with ET.

She continued, “Most children have so many ear infections that they take medication all the time.”
Although Ossa “never needed antibiotics”, Alicia clarified that “she’s not saying that” [she] he would not give it to her “if he needed them, but at this time he does not need them.”

Alicia wanted people to understand that her child is a great example of the benefits of a “plant-based” diet and that it is not a diet deprived of essential nutrients.
‘[Bear] so healthy. I just want to share it with the world. So people can see that a plant baby is really healthy … It’s not like he’s okay. They can do better, ‘the actress told Deidre Behar of ET.
Alicia welcomed her only child in May 2011 with ex-husband and musician Christopher Jarecki, 44.
The former couple, whose relationship lasts 20 years, married from 2005 until the divorce in 2018.

In addition to publicizing the benefits of a plant-based lifestyle, Silverstone also opened up to ET about quarantine amid the coronavirus pandemic with her nine-year-old son.
Specifically, actress Crush revealed that Bear recently dropped his famous long hair, but believes it will make him grow back after his cut.
‘We went home together, went to bed and we both looked at each other as if something had happened. He was like a new person, ‘he recalled.
“She’s so fantastic and she looks fine … Her hair is growing back and she’s very pretty. Her hair will be back at her waist soon, I’m sure, in no time.

Bear seems to be following in his mother’s footsteps as he prepares to make a brief appearance in his mother’s new film, Sister of the Groom.
Alicia also revealed that Bear will appear in the second series of her Netflix series The Baby-Sitters Club because she wanted to make sure he could go work with her.
“Because of the COVID rules, he can’t come unless he’s there, so they put him inside … He’s the youngest child’s best friend,” he explained.
