the Department of Health publish this afternoon the weekly report on COVID-19 transmission in Puerto Rico, which revealed that there are already 73 municipalities with high virus transmission level.
In one week, a total of 11 municipalities were added to the red list of contagion levels.
The municipalities in high transmission are Attached, Aguadilla, Aigües Bones, Aibonito, Arecibo, Arroyo, Añasco, Barceloneta, Barranquitas, Bayamón, Cap Roig, Caguas, Camuy, Canóvanas, Carolina, Cataño, Cayey, Ceiba, Ciales, Coamo, Comerío, Corozal, Culebra, Daurat, Fajardo, Florida, Guayama, Guayanilla, Guaynabo, Gurabo, Guánica, Hatillo, Formiguers, Humacao, Isabela, Jayuya, Juana Díaz, Joncs, Lajas, Lares, Les Marías, Les Pedres, Loíza, Luquillo, Manatí, Maricao, Maunabo, Mayagüez , Moca, Morovis, Naguabo, Naranjito, Orocovis, Sideburns, Ponce, Quebradillas, Corner, Rio Grande, Great Savannah, Saline, San Germa’n, San Juan, San Lorenzo, San Sebastián, Santa Isabel, Toa Alta, Toa Baixa, Trujillo Alt , Utuado, Vega Alta, Baix Segura, Yabucoa and Yauco.
while four municipalities are in substantial transmission level. These are: Aguada, Cidra, Peñuelas and Villalba.
No municipality of the Island is in moderate transmission.
The only one in low transmission until this week is the Island Municipality of Vieques.
Faced with this scenario, schools throughout Puerto Rico continue in a completely virtual mode by order of the Department of Health.
Currently, there are 279.72 cases of COVID-19 per household 100,000 inhabitants of the Island.
Puerto Rico is at a critical level of risk, and the positivity rate continues to grow. Today, it stands at 14.10%.
Health reported on Tuesday 418 confirmed additional cases of coronavirus and 146 probable cases. While 11 additional deaths were reported.
