Unfortunately, this success posed some challenges for Innersloth developers. Yesterday they launched a developer blog that explained why the development and updates have been taking so long and to tell fans a bit about what’s going on behind the scenes.
“Between us we gained incredible strength in late 2020 that we didn’t expect, and that meant a LOT of change for us,” the developers say. “Not only did we have to work together again after thinking it was done, but we also needed to set up more sustainably to work on the game. We had to spend 2 months just restructuring ourselves, discovering new processes and getting external partners to help us manage on board “.
The development team was initially only three people, although it added a quarter this year. They add that they have heard suggestions of hiring more people to help them, but rushing to get new people can often be detrimental to what is helpful.
All of this organization has meant that they have needed to spend time out of the game, but ultimately it means that development will be a little easier in the future.
