Amy Coney Barrett insists SCOTUS is not “a lot of partisan tricks”

Amy Coney Barrett is justifiably concerned about what the public thinks about her and her fellow Supreme Court justices after a 5-4 vote that allowed the radical ban on abortion in Texas to be maintained. The conservative justice chosen by Trump delivered a lecture at the University of Louisville on Sunday and bravely tried to convince the crowd that SCOTUS is not a deeply divided institution. “My goal today is to convince you that this court is not made up of a bunch of partisan pirates,” he said, according to the Louisville Courier Journal. He added that judges need to be “hyper vigilant to make sure they don’t let personal prejudice get in the way of their decisions, as judges are people too.” Students reportedly asked Barrett about the court’s failure to stop Texas’ abortion ban, but said it would be “inappropriate” to talk about specific cases.
