A popular Texas resort was closed Friday night following reports of a possible active shooter.
Law enforcement loosened the Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine after 10pm local time, and placed the hotel as a precautionary closure, Grapevine Police he said on Twitter.
“We are scouring every room while families wait in a safe part of the resort,” two police officers tweeted later.
“Our officers are responding to an active threat call at Great Wolf Lodge,” Grapevine police announced on Twitter at 10 p.m.
“There have been no injuries, but we are still on the scene and scouring the area.”
The host tweeted on the local CBS station that police were called after someone “made statements about threatening the safety of our guests”; that person was wanted, the tweet said.
“For the safety of our guests, the complex is currently closed and we continue [sic] the law enforcement leader. ”
Grapevine is a suburb located north of Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.
According to its website, the Great Wolf Lodge is a resort and a covered water park.
A guest staying at the accommodation told KTVT that a text sent by the hotel warned guests not to leave their rooms amid reports of a possible active shooter.
Great Wolf Lodge said law enforcement is investigating the scene.
